Pelita Harapan University

Pelita Harapan University  is one of the private universities in Indonesia which was established in May 1994 by Ir. And Dr. Johannes Oentoro (HC) James Riady (Lippo Group). Initially FMU occupied temporary buildings in Bank Lippo Building, Kedoya, Jakarta, then moved to the Tower of Asia, in the town of Lippo Karawaci, Tangerang. September 5, 1994, lectures began at the Tower of Asia with approximately 250 students in three faculties and eight majors, while building Tower FMU runs.In 1995, all activities were transferred to FMU Tower lectures. In the same year, Pelita Harapan open Pelita Harapan Tourism Academy majoring in Hospitality Management and Tourism Business Management and Faculty of Communication Sciences. In line with the growth and increase the number of students majoring in the construction of buildings as well tuition increases, Building D (2004), Building E (2005), Building C (2006), UPH Business School (2008).In 2006, UPH also open international class for those who want to earn a Bachelor's degree in Indonesia. As for the S2 Master program, UPH open class in the Semanggi, Jakarta. In 2007, the FMU open branches outside Jabodetabek, namely in Surabaya, East Java with a 6 degree program S-1 and S-2 2 master. By directly applying the technology into teaching and learning system. Various high technology into a facility for students, such as Smart Card (Student Card UPH)

UPH has shaped emblem an open Bible and the Eagles are ready to fly, with the inscription Universitas Pelita Harapan circle around him.
